Period Second half of the 20th century If a precise year is required: about 1960 Country of origin Italy Number of pieces 49 Description Italian tableware service for 12 people, totaling 49 pieces and accompanied by the corresponding shaped case. The service features an elegant raised decoration in a classic taste, with shell motifs, palmettes and scrolls, repeated on the handles and serving utensils. Lot composition: * 12 table knives; * 12 table spoons; * 11 table forks; * 11 teaspoons; * 1 ladle; * 1 large serving spoon; * 1 serving fork. The service is incomplete compared to the original composition for 12 people: missing one table fork and one teaspoon. The main cutlery and serving utensils bear the marking “ARG. 800”, accompanied by a manufacturer's figurative mark that is not identifiable. The metal composition has not been verified by professional analysis and is described based on the visible and photographed markings. The 11 teaspoons feature coordinated decoration but do not bear a readable hallmarks; they are therefore included without certainties about 800 silver. The 12 knives have stainless steel blades marked “SUPER INOX” and handles coordinated with the rest of the service. Blade length is about 12 cm. Indicative measurements: * large serving spoon: length 26 cm, maximum handle width 3.5 cm and bowl width 6 cm; * table forks: length 20 cm and maximum handle width 3 cm; * teaspoons: length 13 cm, maximum handle width 2 cm and bowl width 2.5 cm; * knife blades: length about 12 cm. Total gross weight of the 49 pieces: 2,628 g, excluding the case. The indicated weight is gross and includes the steel blades of the knives, the 11 unpunched teaspoons and any hollow parts or fillings of the handles. It does not represent the net weight of the silver. The service is used and shows oxidation, superficial scratches, traces of cleaning and normal signs due to age and use. The case also shows signs of wear. Please carefully view the photographs, which are an integral part of the description. The lot will be packed with particular care.
