Crucifix - Wood, Resin - 1970-1980 - 67 cm

Wall crucifix with a radiating sunburst – Wooden cross and Christ's Body in polychrome resin - 20th Century Elegant and evocative wall crucifix from a collection, characterized by a strong visual impact and careful expressive rendering of the Passion (Christus patiens). The supporting structure and the arms of the cross are made of solid wood with a double contrast finish. Behind the sacred figure emerges a four-point golden sunburst that symbolizes the divine light of the Resurrection. The Body of Christ, finished in anatomical detail and facial features, is made of hard polychrome resin, a material that guarantees excellent definition of the crown of thorns and the musculature. The loincloth and the upper cartouche with the inscription "INRI" feature a rich gold finish. The wounds, the side wound, and the drops of blood are entirely hand-painted on the surface with red tones to accentuate the realism of the work. A piece of sacred art ideal for domestic devotion, for collectors of religious paraphernalia or as a decorative element. • Material of the Body: Hand-painted polychrome resin • Material of the Cross: Wood with gold inserts • Era: Second half of the 20th century • Provenance: Italy / Alpine Area (Style inspired by the Val Gardena tradition) • Mounting: Original metal hook on the top rear, ready to be hung. Excellent overall condition with normal and minimal signs of wear. The wooden structure is solid and free of structural defects. The polychromy of the resin body and the gold parts retain a beautiful luster and vivid colors. Please view the photographic gallery carefully, which is an integral part of the description.
