Credenza - Maple, Walnut, Teak - Italian bar cabinet, 1950s

An important and refined Italian bar cabinet dating roughly to the late 1950s, an expression of the elegance and artisanal quality of postwar Brianza furniture. Of substantial size, with a length of about 280 cm, the piece is distinguished by its carefully conceived architectural composition, harmonious lines, and the meticulous choice of materials. Particularly fascinating are the large veneered surfaces in burl wood, characterized by natural, highly decorative grain patterns, which elegantly contrast with the lighter tones of the interiors. The structure features original shaped sides, slender legs with metal caps, glass elements, and an articulated internal organization with equipped shelves, storage compartments, and drawers. The interiors are adorned with delicate handmade green linear decorations, which give the piece additional personality. The quality of the workmanship, the proportions, and the construction details testify to a production of good quality, attributable in stylistic terms to the Italian cabinetmaking tradition of the mid-20th century. Provenance: private Lombard family collection. According to information handed down by the family, the piece was purchased on the occasion of the previous owner's wedding, around 1959, and remained in the same home for over sixty years. On the back there are two handwritten pencil marks, very faded, whose origin has not been identified. There are currently no documentary elements available that would allow a definitive attribution to a designer or to a specific manufacturer. Conditions: excellent overall condition, with slight signs of aging and two small localized chips, consistent with the age of the piece. Dimensions: length about 280 cm; height and depth to be measured. A striking piece with a strong stage presence, ideal for refined interiors, collections of postwar Italian design, or interior projects that showcase original large-format furniture. GIVEN THE GREAT SIZE OF THE PIECE I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR SHIPPING; I am available to arrange with a transport company you trust or to discuss with you a suitable courier.
