Collection of mid-20th century French ephemera including photographic postcards, illustrated philatelic cards, and a first-day cover. The maritime items focus on ocean liners of the Cie de Navigation Sud-Atlantique, with interior views of the first-class dining room on the SS Pasteur and the grand salon of the SS L'Atlantique. Philatelic interest includes a card for the Quatrieme Bourse Philatelique de la Mediterranee, Marseille, 1954, featuring a ship-themed cancellation mark dated May 8, 1954, and a 70c postage stamp surcharged +11 with a red cross symbol. A 1952 first-day cover honors Dr. Rene Laennec, inventor of the stethoscope, bearing a Quimper postmark dated November 7, 1952. Topographical subjects include a view of the Napoleon I statue at Cherbourg published by Edit. Becquemin Roupard.
