Toutes les enchères / Ethnographie / Collection of 21 irreplaceable Nymphalidae from four...

This is an exceptional lot of 21 tropical day-flyes from the famous private collection of Vestergaard, an entomologist/collector who for decades conducted expeditions himself. This is not a shop lot with bred butterflies, but a historic entomological document with original handwritten field labels from the period 1974 - 2006. What makes it so rare: the provenance is worldwide and documented - from the Andes at 2400 m to the jungle of Cameroon, from Flores, Indonesia to Trinidad. All with handwritten data labels. A closed museum drawer with 21 different families and continents hardly ever comes to market again. The museum drawer with glass lid is in top condition, all specimens perfectly prepared and mounted in a wooden entomological drawer. Here is the full determination based on the labels: ROW 1 - Top row: 1. Colias sp. - La Lucma, Peru 2400m - V-VI 1995 Small orange-yellow Pieridae from the high Andes. Vestergaard label. 2.
