Coat rack - Wood, Chrome - Vintage wall-mounted coat rack and hat rack

Vintage design wall coat rack – Chrome-plated tubular frame – Black textured back panel – 60s/70s A stylish combination of glossy chrome, clean lines, and characteristic vintage design! This attractive vintage wall coat rack is a true eye-catcher for lovers of retro and mid-century interiors. The design combines an elegantly curved tubular frame with a black back panel featuring a subtle texture and a contrasting light piping. The gracefully curved chrome side supports give the coat rack its recognizable look. The line work is reinforced by horizontal metal crossbeams and the five practical, diagonally placed wardrobe hooks. The combination of black, chrome, and light accents creates a timeless whole that sits just as well in a retro interior as in a modern or industrial hall. Design and background Chrome-plated tubular steel became an important material in European modernist furniture design from the 1920s and 1930s. It allowed designers to create light, strong constructions with flowing lines and minimal superfluous decoration. This form remained popular in the post-war decades. Especially in the 1960s and 1970s, numerous wardrobes and wall coat racks appeared, in which chrome tubes were combined with contrasting back panels. This piece nicely aligns with this design movement in terms of form and material use.
