Clock - US Navy / US Maritime Commission - Seth Thomas...

US Navy / US Maritime Commission deck clock - Seth Thomas - January 1943 (WWII) Exceptional and authentic mechanical ship’s deck clock ("Deck Clock") from the famous American manufacturer Seth Thomas, produced during World War II. Factory stamp "1-43" confirming January 1943 manufacture. This historical model in black Bakelite (phenolic material used to preserve strategic metal stocks during the war effort) equipped ships of the United States Navy (US Navy). A magnificent piece of naval history and militaria, ideal for discerning collectors or for upscale marine/industrial decor. • The clock is sold without its winding key. However, I was able to borrow one to test: the mechanism was wound and the clock runs perfectly. I have made a video proving its good operation and the regularity of its mechanism (available on request or included with the lot). Although it runs correctly, a small service or a simple routine lubrication by a professional may be advisable to ensure optimal accuracy over the long term given its age. Dimensions: 26 cm × 26 cm × 8 cm Weight: 2.3 kilograms
