Clementi di Bologna - Clementi di Bologna - Centrepiece...

A prestigious and important circular centerpiece cup supported by four volute-moulded feet, entirely made in solid 800 silver by the famous and historic Clementi manufactory of Bologna. The object stands out for a superb body entirely repoussé with dense radial beading that is gleaming. The sumptuous flared and shaped rim is richly finished in repoussé and chasing with foliage and scroll motifs of exquisitely Baroque taste. The quality of the soldered feet and the definition of the chasing testify to the high level of Bologna silversmithing in the mid‑twentieth century.
