The Japanese house has implemented a Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) high-definition display. Compared with traditional LCD screens, MIP technology guarantees exceptional legibility under direct sunlight — a fundamental condition during navigation sessions — while drastically reducing energy consumption. The beating heart of this range is the new internally developed Calibro (movement) U812. Thanks to this module, the watch introduces two main modes highly useful on board: Race Mode and Tide Graph Mode. NAUTICAL FUNCTIONS Race Mode and tide graph The Citizen Promaster New Wave Tracker is not just a handsome watch to wear on the quay, but a real professional tool for the wrist. 1. - Race Mode (Yacht Race Timer) In regattas, position before the start is everything. The Wave Tracker is equipped with an advanced race timer: once the countdown is started in the minutes leading up to the start, the watch automatically switches to chronograph mode as soon as the time runs out. This allows the skipper to monitor the exact duration of the race from the first second after the starting line to the finish. Moreover, the rotating bezel with a calculator scale allows calculating angles, directions and sail trim points (yacht headings) based on wind direction. 2. Tide Graph Mode, lunar phases and dawn/dusk Safe navigation requires knowledge of tides. The Wave Tracker calculates the tide level at the selected position and shows hourly forecasts directly on the graphic display.
