The company is known for having introduced electroplating with gold and silver in France in 1842. The company was acquired in 2012 by one of its shareholders, the Chalhoub2 luxury group. The House Christofle relies on production that is entirely handmade following traditional techniques. The precious métiers of turning-repoussage, planishing, chasing, engraving, which are carried on by its Master Silversmiths and Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, immortalize the qualities of elegance and excellence of all Christofle pieces.
