French Art Deco silver-plated trophy cup manufactured by Christofle, featuring a tapered bowl with two prominent angular geometric handles. The vessel sits atop a waisted pedestal stem terminating in a circular stepped foot with gadrooned details. The side of the cup is engraved in an uppercase serif font with S.S. ILE DE FRANCE, referencing the French Line ocean liner launched in 1926. The outer rim of the base is impressed with the text ORFEVRERIE CHRISTOFLE alongside two small square hallmarks, one containing a balance symbol flanked by the letters O and C, and the second depicting a profile head. Base tested as silver with the Thermo Scientific Niton XL2 XRF Precious Metal Analyzer. Dimensions: 6"W x 6.75"H Provenance: Museum of Miami Collection, known for its extensive archives, manuscripts, and visual materials documenting the region's history.
