Christofle - Antique Silverplated Cutlery set (24) - Baguette (Fidelio)- in own authentic Anti-Oxidant bag “Exclusivité Christofle” This antique magnificent dining silver plated cutlery set for twelve people is famous model Baguette/Fidelio from the 19th century, manufactured in the Charles Christofle factory, Paris. An early production of Christofle, although the Baguette model is still sold today (with slight differences) as the Fidelio collection. The Fidélio cutlery collection is a one of the House's very first collections between 18th et 19th century: The "Baguette" collection. It is named after this Beethoven opera which expresses the tenderness of a young couple. With its graceful and round curves, slightly raised with a fine, very soft rib, the Fidélio collection is an ode to sensuality and simplicity. Luxury, calm and voluptuousness, it could also have been inspired by the first lines of "The invitation to travel" by Charles Baudelaire. All pieces are beautifully monogrammed. There are 2 hallmarks: “metal blanc” “72” All pieces (12 forks and 12 knives) are stored in individual Christofle felt anti-tarnish bags. This authentic Christofle anti-oxidant bag is made of sott, brown cloth that prevents both oxidation and tarnish. The cutlery is in condition for its age, with light scratches from historical use.
