Glistening American Concept for the Sun Yat-sen Dollar CHINA. Silver Dollar Pattern, Year 18 (1929). Hangchow Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-62. L&M-95; K-616; KM-Pn100; WS-0139; Chang-CH197; Wenchao-910 (rarity: ★★). American design from Philadelphia Mint dies. A RARE issue that emanates from a popular series whereby some of the world's leading mints were commissioned to offer designs for an impending Dollar featuring the bust of Sun Yat-sen. In the case here, America's Philadelphia mint provided the dies, with the resulting product displaying a tremendous cameo nature through frosted devices and intensely mirrored fields. For completeness, a small depression is evident in the left reverse field, likely coming from a foreign substance on the die when this piece was struck. Estimate: $30,000 - $50,000.
