China Peking Aubusson - Carpet - 257 cm - 164 cm

Antique Chinese Rug – Aubusson floral style – 1950s-1960s – 257 × 164 cm We present an elegant antique Chinese rug, made between 1950 and 1960, with a refined Aubusson-inspired floral design. The rug is crafted using an ancient manual tufting technique, in which the wool tufts are worked by hand on a cotton base. On the reverse, the structure is stabilized with a traditional fixing compound that keeps the tufts in place, and finally protected by a textile lining. The pile is worked and cut by hand, creating the beautiful relief characteristic of this type of rug. It features a very elegant decoration, with a large central floral medallion and numerous flower and leaf motifs, combined in soft tones of green, beige, pink, and brown.
