From close relations with their Lambayeque neighbors, whom they would eventually incorporate into their empire, the goldsmiths perfected the techniques to produce copper, silver and gold prestige goods, such as cups, ear flares or masks, used especially in ceremonial ceremonies by the nobles. The textiles of this culture were a prestigious and influential craft that spread throughout the northern and central coast of Peru, even rivaling the tradition of fine tapestries that characterized the textiles of the Wari and Tiwanaku empires.
