Ruchot is mainly known for his bronzes and regules, while his ceramic works are much rarer, making this piece particularly interesting for collectors. The scene depicts a young seated woman, wearing a flowing red dress, holding a bouquet of colorful flowers, accompanied by a small dog trained to lie against her knee. The vivid polychromy, glossy glaze and delicate work on the folds of the garment attest to a fine level of craftsmanship. The signature “Ch. Ruchot” is clearly visible on the base, confirming an authentic edition by the artist or his workshop.
