Chair (2) - Polychrome wood

Pair of Antique Chairs in Louis XVI Style Lacquered and Gilded Elegant pair of chairs in Louis XVI style, made of ivory-coloured lacquered wood and adorned with refined gilded decorations, stylistically linked to the late nineteenth century / early twentieth century. The structure features tall, square-backed backs, enhanced by carved upper crests and relief ornamental motifs depicting garlands, leaves and small floral elements. The seats and backs are padded and upholstered in damask fabric with vertical stripes in delicate cream-yellow tones, finished along the edges with decorative piping. The front legs, straight and tapered, display elegant fluting and gilded ornamental applications, while the under-seat rails repeat the floral motifs found on the backs. The rear section also shows refined workmanship, with upholstered backs and lacquered structures. The finish shows signs of wear and small imperfections, consistent with the lived appearance of the furniture.
