CENTRAL ASIAN SILVER RING WITH INSCRIBED BLUE GLASS CABOCHON
Ca. AD 1700 - 1900 A silver ring with a flat-section hoop expanding to broad shoulders decorated with large heart-shaped motifs and supporting a broad engraved mount with beaded borders and bands of scrolling vegetal ornament. Set within the mount is an oval blue glass cabochon engraved with an Arabic inscription. Size: D:19.35mm / US: 9 1/2 / UK: S 1/2; Weight: 22g Provenance: From a private UK collection; earlier purchased on the London art market in the 1990s.
