Price of the new one: €14,000.00 Purchased a few years ago, used very little because it’s always away on business trips, never at home, kept in excellent condition, the mechanism functioning perfectly. Here are some specifications written by Cassina: The sofa is in full-grain calf leather, which is the highest expression of naturalness and prestige. Its defining feature is the complex internal structure. In addition to the steel tubular frame, the backrest incorporates the famous patented mechanism with a bicycle chain that allows the headrests to be raised and lowered independently. Designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina, Maralunga is a sofa with a steel structure; cushions and padding are made of molded polyurethane foam. The individual elements are manually upholstered and then, with the aid of an air-powered machine, assembled together in a single operation. Maralunga is one of the most celebrated sofas in Italian design, characterized by a backrest equipped with a fold-down headrest that directly allows its use in low or high version. The convertibility is instant and independent for each seat, for maximum comfort. A classic of Made in Italy design, chosen for you by mohd. Winner of the Compasso d’Oro in 1979, Maralunga is the embodiment of the very idea of comfort, thanks to the adjustment of the headrest to obtain a high- or low-back version achieved by inserting a simple bicycle chain into the foam of the backrest. Cassina, a brand of Italian design that in the late sixties experienced the great creative ferment of the transition from artisanal production to industrial production. Vico Magistretti together with the Brianza company produced one of the most iconic sofas in the history of design. The reason is simple: the architect manages to express in a single product a planning identity. With Maralunga the “transforming” sofa allows for moments of rest and others of conversation without sacrificing comfort and the quality of materials. THE SOFA IS LOCATED IN THE HOUSE IN CERNUSCO SUL NAVIGLIO (MI) ON THE GROUND FLOOR
