Cartier - Pentagon - Lighter - Gold

We present at auction a piece of rare elegance with a distinctive design signed Cartier Paris: the iconic Pentagon model lighter. Characterized by its unmistakable pentagonal section, this accessory represents a true miniature sculpture, capable of merging the jewelerly excellence of the French maison with a sought-after and original geometry. The body of the lighter is enhanced by a luxurious and luminous gold-plated finish (Plaqué Or G), masterfully enriched by a sophisticated raised-relief engraving across the entire surface. This dense and refined textured motif not only gives extraordinary three-dimensionality and brilliance to the object, but also ensures a firm and pleasant grip to the touch. On the smooth back cover the inscriptions "Cartier Paris", the plating mark ("PLAQUE OR G"), and the unique serial number are clearly impressed, confirming the piece’s absolute authenticity. From a mechanical standpoint, the item is in a state of absolute excellence. The lighter has recently undergone a scrupulous and complete professional maintenance to guarantee full efficiency over time. The mechanism has been refilled with appropriate gas, equipped with a new flint stone and rigorously tested: the roller mechanism operates perfectly smoothly and the lighter is fully functional, producing a bright, stable, and regular flame (as demonstrated in the photographs). The conservation status of this example should be considered good overall, as it is a fascinating vintage object with a lived history. The structure is solid and mechanically impeccable. In full compliance with our usual and stringent policy of total transparency, there are the physiological signs of time, light micro-scratches, and a natural patina of wear due to normal daily use over the years, visible particularly on the edges, rims, and back cover. These details bear witness to the object’s history and real use, giving it an authentic sense of the era without in any way compromising its great aesthetic charm.
