Candelabrum (2) - Patinated bronze - Two altar candelabra - 106 cm & 104 cm

Pair of large Baroque-style altar candelabras - Bronze - H 106 cm & 104 cm Description of the work On auction a imposing and magnificent pair of monumental candelabras (church torches) cast in bronze. The pieces draw inspiration from the canons of Italian Baroque, with a slender baluster shaft marked by geometric nodes and mouldings, resting on a majestic tripodal base enriched by a scroll-shaped curved feet. This is a fascinating period pairing: the two candelabras share the same structural and decorative design but show evident differences in proportions, base measurements, patina finish, and joint details of the shafts. This uniqueness testifies to their antique handcrafted workmanship and the collectible nature of the pieces, ideal to create a visually striking focal point in prestigious salons or entrance halls. (Note for experts: the vase visible in one of the gallery images is purely illustrative, provided to give an immediate visual reference for understanding the enormous scale and monumental dimensions of the candelabras). The upper part ends with broad drip pans shaped with a leaf-like pointed edge. As visible in the detailed photos, the summit is prepared with the housing for the central pin (visible on one of the two elements), originally used to fix the large altar candles. Structural Details Analysis (Shaft and Base) Left Candelabrum (H 104 cm / Base 21 cm): Features a more geometric shaft with a glossy metal collar at the top and narrower ring nodes. Shows a dark casting with fascinating traces of natural oxidation (green patina) in the bronze recesses. Right Candelabrum (H 106 cm / Base 28 cm): Has a smoother, more slender shaft line and a lower, more voluminous baluster section. Retains a patination of gold/antique brass decidedly more uniform and warm. Technical Sheet Material: Cast bronze Style: Baroque / Altar piece Era: Late 19th Century / Early 20th Century Quantity: 2 candelabras (similar pair / period pairing) Conditions: Good structural, stable and robust conditions. They present a beautiful natural patina with the normal signs of time and use that enhance their authenticity. One of the two drip pans does not have the protruding threaded pin (please observe the gallery carefully). Shipping Notes Given the considerable weight of the bronze and the monumental height of the pieces, the items will require professional tailor-made packaging (high-density polystyrene and reinforced cardboard). Shipping will be via traceable express courier to ensure maximum safety during transport.
