Toutes les enchères / Photographies / Camerapohoto Epoche/Vittorio Pavan - 16-Caccia in valle-Venezia 1946-

Digital pigment ink prints on baryta fiber silk paper, with a 60x70 cm sheet. All images are taken from the original negatives, belonging to Vittorio Pavan's Cameraphoto Epoche Archive. Print on 310 g/m² Silk fiber baryta paper. Pigment inks. Paper 60x70 cm. The image obtained from a 6×6 cm negative Camera Epoche - Venice Historical Archive: Three hundred thousand images, mostly unpublished, black-and-white negatives on glass giving way, as time passes, to 4 x 5 inch images on film sheets, then to 120-roll film during the Fifties replaced by 135 cartridges from the early 1970s onward. Such is the content of the Archivio Cameraphoto Epoche archive in numbers. A quick peek at it and we can't help falling in love with long-gone faces, places and events whose strength still pops out of each contact print and has now become history: movie stars and art/culture personalities, day and night views of Venice and the surrounding countryside, gossip, crime, sports and local news, artwork or prints reproductions. About Vittorio Pavan: In 1972, at the age of 14, he was hired by Cameraphoto, the largest photojournalism agency in Venice, founded in 1946, collaborating in the production of development and black-and-white analogue press and the creation of photographic services for newspapers and weeklies, including Il Corriere della Sera, La Stampa, Der Spiegel, Time and Life. In addition to photojournalism he also collaborates with La Biennale and with the Department of Culture for the realization of exhibition catalogs, including Vasilij Kandiskij, Egon Schiele, Cagnaccio, Tiziano and El Greco. In 1987 he took over the Agency. He currently makes art photographs for books, collaborating with publishers such as Electa, Treccani, Biblos, Magnus. In addition to the reproduction of works of art (the latest major work, the book "Emilio Vedova Sculptor" published by Skira), he produces analogue black-and-white prints and fine-art digital prints, for professionals and artists. Among his clients are Araki, Fulvio Roiter, Giorgia Fiorio, David Hamilton, Danilo De Marchi. In addition to the activities of photographer and printer, for about 5 years he has dedicated himself to the enhancement and conservation of his historic archive, called the Archivio Cameraphoto Epoche, containing about 300,000 negatives from the post-war period to the 80s, negatives which represent in various aspects the history of Venice and not only.
