The original scene is reimagined through the artist’s distinctive visual language, combining intense colours, expressive black lines and fragmented geometric forms. Vivid areas of colour contrast with lighter spaces, creating movement and tension, while deliberately imperfect shapes give the figures a raw and contemporary character. The hourglass evokes the passing of time and the awareness that every choice shapes our path. Temptation, desire and mortality come together in a theatrical composition, where the figures confront their choices against the inevitable passage of time. Through this reinterpretation, Dürer’s powerful imagery is transformed into a contemporary visual narrative, preserving its dramatic essence while giving it a new expressive language. About the artist C. Del Barrio is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between contemporary Cubism and figurative abstraction. Her artistic language is characterised by imperfect geometry, expressive lines, vivid colour and symbolic, schematically constructed figures. Initially trained in the arts, she has developed an international career as a lyric mezzo-soprano while maintaining painting as an independent and deeply personal creative language. Her work explores identity, emotion and transformation through compositions that combine recognisable figures with abstract and symbolic elements. Based in Spain, C. Del Barrio continues to develop her painting practice alongside her career as a professional singer, with a growing focus on presenting her original works internationally.
