Burmese amber, high quality, 100 pieces with insect inclusions. - Amber

A time capsule from the Cretaceous: 100 polished pieces of Burmese amber dating to about 99 million years ago. Each piece contains at least one insect or other small arthropod from the age of the dinosaurs. Shipping within the EU is free. What’s inside All detailed photos are of stones from this lot. It’s a diverse mix, including for example: - mosquitos and gnats (Diptera) - parasitic wasps (Hymenoptera) - beetles (Coleoptera) - spiders (Araneae) - probably true bugs (Hemiptera) and other small arthropods In addition, plant material and gas bubbles are present. I have identified the inclusions at the order level based on photos. Consider this an indication. How to best view the inclusions Most inclusions are small, 1 to 5 mm. Some are difficult to see with the naked eye, which is common with Burmese amber. You may only see a tiny dot. Place a lamp or flashlight under the stone. The insect will then stand out better. For the finest details you will need a 10x loupe or a microscope. Legs, wing veins, and antennae become clearly visible. Details Number: 100 pieces Total weight: 125 g Dimensions: approximately 0.8 to 3.5 cm per piece (see the first photo) Origin: Myanmar Age: Cretaceous (Cenomanian), about 99 million years Treatment: polished Authenticity: natural Burmese amber Good to know Not every inclusion is complete. Some are partial, lie at the edge, or are partly covered by clouding or dirt. You’ll see this in the photos as well. The photos were taken with light from underneath. In ordinary light, the stones are darker and less bright. In the detail photos, the stones may appear larger than they actually are. Use the size photo as the reference. If a piece does not contain any animal inclusion, please let me know. You will receive a proportional portion of the purchase price back for that piece. Shipping Free within the EU, carefully packed in a small plastic bag as shown in the last photo. It will be securely packed with additional packing material and shipped with tracking. For buyers outside the EU, shipping costs are those shown by Catawiki; import duties and local VAT are the responsibility of the buyer.
