Compulsive and spontaneous creator, Bruno Cantais lives in Lyon; he explores several techniques, ranging from abstract expressionism in the vein of Rauschenberg or De Kooning, to matter projections à la Georges Mathieu, to Pop Art collage, or the expressionism of Karel Appel, straddling the boundary between abstract gesture and figurative representation. Yet his hallmark remains this physical painting, this material worked by the body, a testament to the artist's intimate monologue.
