Brooch of the Economic Miracle With Diamond Roses in Gold & Platinum

When, after the long years of war, food shortages, currency reform and the first reconstruction, the lust for life returned to german cities and parlours, when the economic miracle made possible the first new prosperity in the centres of industry and trade, the art of jewellery design also awoke to new life after many years of a dreamless sleep. In the time of the economic miracle also the brooch experienced a bloom time. This brooch is made of 14 carat yellow gold and shows itself in the form of a stretched rhombus. At its centre, it presents five wonderful rose cut diamonds . The gemstones are set in platinum and delight with their characteristic soft shine. Presumably, the gemstones are far older than the brooch itself; especially in times of scarcity, existing gemstones were often re-set in post-war Germany. The piece of jewellery is beautifully preserved and can be worn in a variety of ways.
