The brooch is richly set with rose-cut diamonds and diamond fragments, which together create a characteristic sparkle typical of jewelry from this period. The floral motif is built from several layers of petals, set with diamonds in various sizes. In the center lies a larger rose-cut diamond, surrounded by a wreath of smaller diamonds. The openwork construction and the warm color of the rose gold give the piece an elegant and authentic Victorian appearance. The gold content has been determined by XRF analysis as 9-carat gold (375).
