INDIA. Calcutta. 1/2 Rupee. 1936(C). George V (1910–1936) - Value: 1/2 Rupee. - Year: 1936. - Reign: George V (1910–1936). - Inscriptions: Obverse: GEORGE V KING EMPEROR. Reverse: HALF RUPEE INDIA 1936 with Persian inscription, surrounded by a floral garland. - Grade: NGC MS62. Silver coin minted at the Calcutta mint during the last year of King George V's reign. The obverse features the crowned bust of the monarch, richly dressed in ceremonial uniform and looking to the left. The reverse shows the denomination, country, year and inscription in Persian script, framed by an elaborate garland with floral motifs representing the nations of the United Kingdom. This specimen stands out for its notable relief detail and its superior preservation, certified as MS62 by NGC.
