eedle case / antique chatelaine set – repoussed floral decoration – late 19th / early 20th century Ancient cylindrical decorative case, probably intended to contain needles or small sewing accessories and able to be suspended from a chatelaine. Very beautiful metalwork with rich floral and vegetal relief decoration across the entire body. The circular lid is adorned with a finely worked concentric motif and includes a ring as well as a small chain with a decorative pendant. Estimated dating: around 1880-1920. Material: silvered metal or low-grade silver. Technique: repoussé, chasing and engraving. Condition: antique condition with patina, wear, small marks and oxidation consistent with age. See photographs. Interesting decorative object, representative of the small personal sewing accessories and necessities of the late 19th and early 20th century.
