Bowl - Silver - Pair of Bowls

Splendid and rare set consisting of two ornate bowls in genuine heavy 800 silver, entirely handmade and signed by the Italian silversmith Galvan. The pieces date exactly to 1971 and are a perfect example of brutalist and organic design from the Italian Space Age era. Each bowl was shaped from a single sheet of silver: the magnificent hammered texture ("planished") develops concentrically from the smooth base toward the edges, creating spectacular plays of light and reflections on the surface. UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SET: Set "Nesting" (interlocking): The two bowls have slightly tapering dimensions and were designed to fit perfectly one inside the other, offering a magnificent aesthetic when displayed side by side or stacked. Progressive Handcrafted Numbering: On the bottom of each piece, in addition to the silversmith’s mark and the metal title, the original workshop numbering is hand-engraved to attest to its contemporaneity and authenticity: one bears the code 63 - 800 and the other the code 65 - 800. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Material: Solid 800 silver (guaranteed by the original stamps visible in the photo). Total weight of the set: 179 grams (actual weight verified on a digital scale). Large Bowl dimensions: Diameter about 20 cm | Height about 7.5 cm. Small Bowl dimensions: Diameter about 19 cm | Height about 7 cm. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, splendid patina of the era. No deep marks or structural defects. The rim is deliberately irregular and cut to the edge as in the original author design. Perfect as a centerpiece for mid-century modern decor, a luxury desk tray at the entrance, or as an investment in Italian art silverware of the twentieth century.
