Boston, Massachusetts. Continental Bank. 18xx $3. PCGS Currency Choice About New 55 PPQ. Remainder. No. 47. Plate B. Light handling can be observed under close examination with regards to this handsome Remainder attributable to the Continental Bank of Boston which later became the Continental National Bank of Boston (Charter# 524) in 1864. Here every element which has made this design a long-standing favorite of collectors beckons with color and detail that make the grade assigned look like nothing more than a trifling consideration that's best disregarded. DeWitt Clinton Hay's engraved masterwork entitled The White Bear cuts a magnificent and powerful impression that speaks to the hostility of the environment and the desperation of the scene at hand. The balance of the design including General Joseph Warren's portrait and the green frame accomplished by dozens of micro-lettered "THREE" protectors lends further testament to the inherent appeal of this iconic design through a fine contrast bound to be appreciated by bidders. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000. Provenance: From the Caine Collection.

Estimation:€1,071.2
