Series BMW Profile #7. --With the introduction of the new 6 Series, BMW continues a rich tradition dating back to 1937, when the brand of the “gentlemen drivers” enticed with the elegant BMW 327 Coupé. This exclusive car was also available as a cabriolet and in a sporty version with the legendary engine of the BMW 328 Roadster. After the war BMW resumed this line with models such as the BMW 503, equipped with an advanced light-metal V8 engine, and the affordable BMW 700 Coupé with its charming boxer-twin. Since the sixties, iconic names like 2000 CS, 3.0 CSL, 635CSi, 850i and M Coupé have defined the coupé segment. This book shows how BMW has fused sportiness and elegance for eight decades in ever-new interpretations of the coupé theme. From museum pieces from the thirties to modern masterpieces: a fascinating journey through automotive history, technology and lifestyle.
