Black Opal – a very dark body with exceptionally intense...

This extraordinary Black Opal captivates with its deep dark-blue to almost black body tone, on which an especially intense and high-contrast play-of-color unfolds. At the center is a spectacular, broad swath of neon green that runs like a luminous band across the surface and, depending on the viewing angle, changes its shape and intensity. This dominant green is complemented by strong electric blues as well as occasional intense red and orange flashes that burst from the dark opal body. It is precisely the combination of the deep blue-black and the extremely luminous green that creates an extraordinary optical depth and gives the stone a nearly futuristic aura. Particularly impressive is the large, continuous green color zone, which in the first view almost appears as a fluorescent stream of light, while in the second view additional green, blue and red color fields spread across the stone. The highly polished, glossy surface enhances the glow and provides clear reflections, through which the color play appears especially dynamic. The opal thus shows not only small color flashes but striking, strongly defined color areas, with green clearly forming the dominant color. The red accents create additional strong contrasts and make the color play particularly interesting. Due to the different light reflections, the appearance of the stone changes noticeably, so that with every slight movement new color areas can become visible. The compact, cleanly polished form is excellent as a collectable piece, gemstone, or exclusive display piece, allowing the intense color play to take effect immediately. A particularly fascinating Black Opal with a deep dark body, exceptionally strong green fire, and additional blue, red, and orange flashes, impressing especially with its high color intensity and the strong contrast between the dark body and the luminous play-of-color.
