Benelli - Sport Special - 250 cc - 1972

MotoBI - 250 S - 1972 Motorcycle to be restarted; last use in 2020 It is possible that the bike requires restoration and maintenance interventions. The vehicle has been restored and subsequently unused. The vehicle registration booklet is original and in pages (see photo). Original Roma license plate Documents in order. Digital CDP. Sold without biennial inspection. Defects. Minor oil leaks from the crankcase and from the lower cap of the oil pump (see photo). Tachometer instrument Veglia compliant with the original, but marked Gilera (see photo). Lack of the front seat anchoring elastic. Rear stop command device non-original (see photo). Worn tachometer cable (see photo). Left storage trunk, internally modified to create the battery charging port (see photo). The plate shows a slight damage (see photo). The upper right fastener for the head cover mounting was damaged following the application of excessive torque (see photo). Battery to be replaced. Name in the booklet -S- (Sprite 5v) see photo. It is necessary to clarify what historically happened regarding the commercial name of the model -SS- For new motorcycles to be introduced on the market, after obtaining the prototype homologation certificate (DGM code) from the Ministry, manufacturers were authorized to issue a conformity declaration for each single new product. This document was essential for subsequent registration and for the production of the registration certificate. Benelli did not deem it appropriate to request a new DGM code for the -SS- model because it used the same engine and frame as the previous -Sprite 5V- model, so it continued to use the already in-use DGM code. The Manufacturer limited itself to changing only the commercial name: -SS-, so some civil motorization offices continued to indicate in the registration book the old wording Sprite 5V instead of the new one. Regarding the motorcycle in question, a simple web search is sufficient to verify that VIN 481573 belongs to a MotoBi 250 Sport Special (SS) (also produced as Benelli Sport Special), built between 1970 and 1971. The motorcycle is sold and delivered in its current state of preservation, in the storage location in Rome. The organization, costs and responsibility for any possible shipment of the vehicle, as well as all charges related to the transfer of ownership, are at the buyer’s expense. Delivery of the vehicle directly to the buyer (Italian or foreign) or to the appointed courier and any ownership transfer will be carried out only after the signing by the interested parties of the sale deed drawn up in Italian or English and accompanied by copies of valid personal identification documents. Accompanying the vehicle are provided: - Original F.lli Benelli warranty certificate (guarantee certificate), pristine (see photo). - Brooklands-it rear-view mirror. - Brooklands-it tax stamp holder. - Original spare parts catalog (see photo). - Paper CDP of the first owner in its original form.
