Belle Doxx - Finally free

An original and unique work by Dutch contemporary artist Belle Doxx, in which her recognizable mix of figuration, text, symbolism and intuitive painting strongly comes to the fore. In Never Felt So Good Before, a central, skull-like head with wing elements and a realistically depicted eye takes center stage. Around the face, handwritten texts, small symbols, flashes of lightning and playful drawings appear. Phrases such as “Never Felt So Good Before,” “Divine Wisdom,” “Tears of Joy” and “What Goes Around Comes Around” lend the work an almost diary-like charge. The painting seems to balance between relief, self-reflection and inner transformation. While much of Doxx’s work revolves around duality, identity and confronting one’s own ego, this piece feels lighter and more hopeful. The combination of divine wisdom and tears of joy suggests a moment of insight, as if chaos is slowly giving way to clarity. The soft, pastel-like background contrasts with the raw black lines and graphic symbols. Precisely this mix of vulnerability and directness gives the work its character. The eye forms once again an important motif within Belle Doxx’s visual language and can be read as a symbol of awareness, observation and self-knowledge. The work is presented in a striking fluorescent neon-yellow transparent frame, which gives the painting a strong contemporary character and allows the light colors of the canvas to speak even more. About Belle Doxx Belle Doxx is a Dutch contemporary artist with a distinctive visual language in which painting, text, symbolism and influences from pop culture and street art come together. Her work has been shown, among other places, during a solo exhibition at Shelter Amsterdam, a solo exhibition at Gallery BLNDSH in The Hague, and at the NOCKNOCK Art Fair. She also participated in a group exhibition at Black Art Gallery in Antwerp, where works by Harif Guzman and Stig De Block were also shown. Outside the traditional gallery world, her work has also attracted attention. Belle Doxx collaborated with the international artist Machine Gun Kelly, for whom she developed artwork for merchandise. In 2025, her work was also presented by Playboy. Within her oeuvre, recurring themes include identity, ego, faith, freedom, vulnerability and human contradictions. Text and image function as a single whole, so her paintings often feel like visual streams of consciousness.
