Important and rare 1940s double bed set made of premium heavy pure hand-loomed linen, entirely hand-finished and hand-embroidered.The set includes an exceptionally large flat sheet (270x300 cm) and two matching large pillowcases (85x65 cm).This set features exquisite Italian craftsmanship with rich, entirely hand-embroidered padded satin stitch "White on White" work. The high-relief embroidery depicts a heron, delicate floral patterns, and a traditional good-luck spider web with a tiny spider. The sheet fold and the pillowcases feature the charming 1940s cursive inscriptions "Sonni" (Sleeps) and "Sogni d'oro" (Sweet dreams). Pillowcases retain their original back closure with vintage mother-of-pearl buttons.Structural & Authenticity Details:Sheet construction: Vertical joining of 3 antique linen panels.Width of single panels: 90 cm each, which scientifically proves the authentic 1940s weaving on vintage manual narrow shuttle looms.Hem finish: Large and sumptuous hand-crafted hemstitch (à jour) running along the entire perimeter of the sheet and pillowcases, measuring exactly 9 cm in width, with perfect mitered corners.Condition:Excellent structural condition; the linen fabric is remarkably strong and intact.
