Bed sheet (3) - 300 cm - 280 cm - 1930s trousseau

Rare Elite 1930s Bedding Ensemble: Monumental King-Size Sheet and Two Coordinating Pillow Shams in Richelieu Embroidery and Hand-MMade Filet Lace Beautiful circa-1930s bed set, an authentic masterpiece of textile craftsmanship and period artisanal tailoring. The sheet measures a very large 300 x 280 cm in vintage cotton of the highest quality, heavy and durable. The body of the sheet is not a single mass-produced piece, but is masterfully composed of three parts joined along the length. The seams are joined by tailor-made hand stitches, with ultra-fine and practically invisible points, a typical feature of artisanal work on period looms. The upper ruffle is enriched with a sumptuous Richelieu-style embroidery done by hand. Inside the cut, there are 38 large and rich floral motifs (diameter 10 cm) with 8 petals, all worked entirely in filet crochet. The fusion of the Richelieu cut with the filet mesh insert represents the pinnacle of textile mastery of the period. The set is complete with its two coordinating pillow shams in exactly the same thread and fabric as the base. Each pillow sham shows substantial craftsmanship, decorated with 46 flowers each (diameter 7 cm) using the same cutwork and filet technique, for a total of 92 hand-worked micro-inserts. Condition: The set presents in generally excellent condition; the fabric is solid and the white is pristine. There is only, for utmost precision and transparency, a very small stain (likely rust or from a chest) of only a few millimeters in diameter on one of the two pillow shams. A unique piece for a high-end collection.
