Balance or scale - Gilt brass, Oak

A superb and authentic precision balance with a beam and central column dating from the late 19th century. This scientific instrument of art and precision was the daily working tool of herbalists and laboratory chemists. This set is distinguished by its pretty wooden base, oak or walnut, by its brass gilt trays and by its set of brass weights. We have two kinds of weights: the standard ones and the very small ones weighing just a few grams. It is in good condition, with minor wear related to its age.
