Ancient .800 silver mesh handbag (chainmail or mesh style), very popular in the early 20th century, during the Edwardian era and Art Deco. The frame features repoussé work and floral engraving very characteristic of decorative pieces from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It shows the patina typical of antique silver, which is common in pieces of this age. Note: there is an oval plate with engraved initials, which suggests it was a personalized piece at the time.
