This upholstered bergère represents a unique piece in Luigi Caccia Dominioni's production, and the reference to cars is a constant that runs through every detail of this model: it starts with the backrest curves, moves through the stitching and the capitonné work, and even reaches the wheels. The latter are almost an indulgent self-reference that seems to refer to his ABCD chair, also equipped with two small casters at the base of the front feet. Azucena was founded in 1947 by Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua who founded the company. The Italian brand Azucena has always distinguished itself for collections that combine formal elegance, understated luxury, pure and crisp aesthetics, and very high craftsmanship. Azucena (named after the gypsy heroine of the opera Il Trovatore) was created to gather furniture projects intended for furnishing the buildings they designed.
