The amazing woodblock print Autumn View at Kiyomizu-dera Temple by Teruhide Kato, capturing a brilliant autumn image of Kyoto with stunning colors and contrast. Kato’s artistic style is unique, and his woodblock prints balance traditional Japanese imagery with a modern Japanese design aesthetic. These are lovely contemporary designs and make beautiful framed displays. Artist: Teruhide KATŌ 加藤晃秀 Title: "Autumn View at Kiyomizu Temple" (秋景清水寺) Red artist's seal in bottom margin. The first edition of this design was published between 1990 and 2005. This is a later edition printed using the original woodblocks by Unsodo. Teruhide Kato, after a successful career as a major contemporary kimono designer, began painting and creating woodblock prints in the mid-1980s, using his beloved hometown of Kyoto as his subject matter. Rich with architectural and natural beauty, Kato’s striking images capture the quiet magic of this beautiful city. Kato's woodblocks are beautifully hand printed on high-quality paper in Kyoto.
