Astrowatch, an astrological and astronomical pocket watch designed by the Dutchman Jaap Venker and produced in Switzerland by Revue Thommen. Characteristics of the watch: • Design: Made in the 1970s and 1980s (between 1970 and 1984) based on an idea by Jaap Venker from Sint Anthonis. • Edition: It concerns a limited series of a total of 1,500 pieces (of which a pre-production run of 150 pieces and a follow-up series of about 1,200 pieces by Revue Thommen). This one is no. 940. • Movement: A mechanical hand-wound movement. The watch runs on sidereal time (36 degrees in 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4 seconds). • Dial: Executed in blue with gold zodiac constellations and a display of the starry sky and the ecliptic. • Material/Size: A nickel-plated or steel case with a diameter of about 50 mm.
