Art Deco (1930) - Amethyst - 835 Silver - Germany - Necklace with pendant

Beautiful antique Art Deco pendant with a large, emerald-cut amethyst set in an elegantly worked silver setting. The amethyst has a soft light purple to lilac hue and is set in an openwork gallery with scroll and leaf motifs. This specific model and type of filigree work is typical of German silversmiths from the 1930s, often handmade in Germany. With the silver hallmark “835”. Pendant length is 4.5 cm. Width of pendant is 2.5 cm. Chain length is 45.0 cm. Weight is 18.35 grams. After decades of careful collecting, I have decided to part with (part of) my collection. I wish these special objects a home with a new enthusiast who understands the value of historic preservation.
