Armchair (3) - Tube chairs - Velvet, Wood

Three antique Tub Chairs with carved claw feet – probably England, c. 1900–1920 Extraordinary ensemble of three antique Tub Chairs, presumably of English origin, from the early 20th century. The elegant chairs are distinguished by their gracefully curved, continuously padded backrests that flow into the armrests and form the characteristic enveloping silhouette of classic English Tub Chairs. Particularly noteworthy are the elaborately carved, curved front legs with decorative claw feet. Their design draws on elements of the English Chippendale style of the 18th century, which experienced a revival during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. A special charm is lent to the chairs by the beautiful floral velvet upholstery in a softly faded old-rose shade. The intricately woven floral motifs, the soft texture, and the subtle patina give the chairs a distinctive character. The dark wooden frames and the traditional studded nail trim emphasize the craftsmanship and the historical character of these special seating pieces. A beautiful, cohesive three-piece set with authentic patina and distinctive presence.
