Antoine-Louis Barye (1796–1875) - after - Sculpture

A beautiful bronze sculpture depicting a tiger devouring a gavial, creating a powerful and dynamic scene. The sculpture is finely detailed and naturalistically designed, particularly in the anatomy of the tiger and the textured skin of the gavial. It is made after the work (Tigre dévorant un gavial) of the renowned French sculptor Antoine-Louis Barye (1796–1875), who was celebrated for his expressive and realistic animal sculptures. It is made of high-quality bronze that is finished with a brown patina and it is mounted on an oval shaped marble base. Dimensions: 18 x 22 x 40 cm. Weight: 9 kg. Signature: Barye. Condition: excellent (see images). A highly decorative bronze wildlife sculpture.

Estimation:€450
