The ring presented here is a truly ideal Belle Époque engagement ring. It features a brilliant and fiery old European cut diamond weighing 2.18 ct. The cut leans slightly toward a cushion shape, revealing the cutter’s effort to extract as much of the gem’s precious brilliance as possible from the rough material. The diamond has a subtly warm hue that harmonizes beautifully with the rose gold of the setting. The setting itself is crafted from high-karat gold and effectively showcases the diamond in a cup-shaped setting that allows plenty of light to enter. On the left and right, the band rises to form two protective, almost sculptural shoulders.
