Antique Silver Pierced Cast Sugar Tongs

The ornate pierced and cast openwork handle design with scrollwork, foliate patterns, and a central floral medallion. The arms terminate in scallop shell-shaped bowls with internal textured detailing. The bend is finished with a reeded border and stylized leaf motifs at the shoulders. The interior of the bend contains an impressed square mark featuring illegible characters, and a second, heavily worn rectangular mark is present further along the interior arm, which is not legible as a name or standard hallmark.
