Antique Birdcage - Bamboo - Wooden bird cage

This antique Chinese birdcage is crafted with refined mastery in bamboo and wood, embodying the sober elegance and artisanal skill typical of the Chinese tradition in cage construction. The form blends practicality and aesthetics: the slender bamboo rods create a lightweight and rhythmic structure that leaves the interior visually open, while ensuring solidity. The cage is adorned with several elements rich in detail, including three base supports carved with a bat motif (In China the bat is a powerful symbol of good fortune, happiness and longevity). A sliding opening provides access to the interior, where there are three wooden bowls for water and food, testifying to the well-studied functionality of the design. The cage can be placed on a surface or suspended via the upper wooden hook (removable), offering different display possibilities.
