The bookcase features four adjustable shelves, each lined beneath with brown leather tooling decorated with an elegant gilt patterned design. The leather tooling not only adds a refined decorative touch but was also thoughtfully designed to prevent dust from settling on the tops of books, a hallmark of quality Victorian craftsmanship. The top corners display finely carved Aesthetic-style motifs, while both the base and top are bevelled, lending further elegance and structure to the piece.
