An ancient Roman bronze stylus, used in antiquity to write on wax tablets. The stylus features a long, slender shaft with a conical end for incising and writing text on the wax tablets, and a flat tip that was used to erase words by smoothing the wax surface. The Roman stylus was a versatile instrument used in antiquity to write on wax tablets, which was a common means of recording information in ancient Rome. Condition: Good condition, green patina and earth inclusions on the surface. Material: bronze. Date: 1st–3rd centuries A.D. Dimensions: total size 75 x 9 mm. Weight: 9.07 g No repairs or alterations. It presents calcifications and concretions on its surface typical of its age and prolonged burial, and which are the best guarantee of its authenticity.
